Aqua Voice Pricing

Aqua Voice vs Wispr Flow at a glance

Both apps use a hotkey, take your speech, and put the text where your cursor sits. That is the core trick. The real differences sit in price, privacy controls, word limits and how each app handles code, names and prompts. The table below lists the facts side by side.

Wispr Flow says it removes filler words and adds punctuation on its own. Aqua Voice's cleanup gets praise from a DEV Community reviewer, who calls it much more accurate than macOS dictation. That is one reviewer's opinion, not a test. Keep that difference in mind as you read the rest of this page.

Product Hunt lists 84 reviews for Wispr Flow, averaging 4.8. The most common tags are high accuracy (20 reviews), fast performance (20) and easy to use (13). Users also mention CPU use, complex setup and crashes. Those are user opinions, and they show the trade-offs you may hit.

Aqua Voice vs Wispr Flow pricing on Mac

Aqua Voice's pricing page lists four plans. Free costs $0 and includes 1,000 words. Pro costs $10 a month billed annually, or $12 a month billed monthly. Max costs $19 a month annually or $24 monthly, and adds Realtime Mode, Voice Commands and Early Access. Business costs $19 per seat a month billed annually, with a minimum of two seats.

Wispr Flow's pricing page lists Free at $0 a month with a limited number of words per week. Pro is $15 per user a month billed monthly, or $12 per user a month billed annually. Growth is $23 per user monthly or $18 annually. Enterprise is custom. Read that page again on the day you buy. It has no date and still shows template text in places.

What a year of paid dictation costs

  • Aqua Voice Pro billed annually: $10 a month, or $120 across 12 months.
  • Aqua Voice Pro billed monthly: $12 a month, or $144 across 12 months.
  • Wispr Flow Pro billed annually: $12 a month, or $144 across 12 months.
  • Wispr Flow Pro billed monthly: $15 a month, or $180 across 12 months.
  • Wispr Flow Pro for a team of five, billed annually: five seats at $12, or $720 a year.

On annual billing, the gap for one person is $24 a year. Wispr's Pro price is per user, so a team pays for every seat. Check the seat count before you compare totals.

Watch the free tiers too. Wispr's limit is per week, so it resets. Aqua's 1,000 words has no period on its pricing page. A third-party review calls it lifetime, but the site does not confirm that. If you dictate a lot, count your words for a normal week before you choose.

Aqua Voice vs Wispr Flow privacy and data handling

Aqua Voice's privacy policy is dated November 4, 2026. With Privacy Mode disabled, it says it securely stores dictation audio and transcript data on its servers. With Privacy Mode enabled, it says it does not store that data. Session metadata may still be collected. The policy does not say whether Privacy Mode is on by default. It also does not say whether your content trains AI models.

Aqua's homepage goes further. It says that with Privacy Mode on, nothing is stored on its servers at all. Its Business plan adds Zero Data Retention. A third-party review says Privacy Mode is off by default and that Aqua claims SOC 2 Type II. The policy does not confirm the default, so treat that claim as unverified.

Wispr Flow's privacy page says that with 'Improve the model for everyone' on, it may use your audio, transcripts and edits to improve its models. That covers Dictation and Notetaker. Audio is discarded once transcribed, unless cloud storage for Dictation is on. Local history can be kept, auto-deleted after 24 hours, or never saved. On Growth and Enterprise plans, model training is off by default and locked.

Wispr's homepage says it never sells your data and that you choose whether data helps improve Flow. It cites SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001 and HIPAA compliance. The page does not describe encryption. Neither company's certification claims were checked against an audit report for this page.

Privacy steps before you dictate sensitive text

  • Find Privacy Mode in Aqua Voice's settings and confirm its state before you dictate client or health notes.
  • In Wispr Flow's settings, turn off 'Improve the model for everyone' if you do not want training on your audio.
  • In Wispr Flow's local history settings, choose never save, or auto-delete after 24 hours.
  • Do not rely on a default you have not checked. Neither privacy page makes every default clear, so check each setting once.

This page did not install either app. Menu names and the exact location of each setting were not verified. Search each app's settings for the words in the list, and do not assume the setting lives where a neighboring app keeps it.

Which one is more accurate? What the numbers show

Aqua Voice's homepage says its Avalon model scored 97.4% key-term accuracy on the AISpeak-10 test. It compares that with 65.1% for Whisper Large v3. The company ran that benchmark itself. It is not an independent test. A DEV Community reviewer says the speed and accuracy claims come from demos.

Wispr Flow's site makes accuracy claims too, but this page found no benchmark number for it. Its Product Hunt tags for high accuracy are user opinion. Treat them as a signal, not a test.

Older research gives a general picture. A 2016 arXiv study by Ruan and colleagues found English speech entry ran at 153 words per minute, against 52 for a keyboard. It used short messages on an iPhone 6 Plus and did not test either app. The uncorrected error rate was 1.30% for speech and 0.79% for the keyboard.

The fair test is your own text. Dictate the same paragraph in both apps, then count how many words you fix. The dictation accuracy checker is a useful place to start that count.

Platforms, system requirements and setup on Mac

Wispr Flow's help docs say the Mac app needs macOS 12 or later, on Apple silicon or Intel. The docs say iPad, Linux, Chromebooks, virtual machines and remote desktop sessions are not supported. On Windows, Notetaker needs 16 GB of RAM. Its homepage lists Notetaker for Mac and Windows only.

Aqua Voice's homepage lists macOS, Windows, iOS and Android, and says it supports 49 languages. A DEV Community review says its Android app is waitlist only. A third-party guide says mobile is not available. The official site is the source for this page, so check Aqua's download page for its Mac version requirement before you buy.

If you work in a virtual machine, test on the real Mac first. Wispr's docs say VMs and remote desktops are not supported. Both tools type into whatever app has focus, so check that your work apps accept typed input from them.

Where Lazur fits if you want more than dictation

Lazur is a voice assistant for the Mac that lives in the notch. Hold fn to dictate clean text at the cursor. Hold ⌥ ⌘ to ask about anything on your screen, and Lazur answers out loud. Ask where something is and it draws a circle and a label around it. Ask how to do something and it guides you one click at a time, waiting for each click.

Dictation is included, but it is not the headline. Lazur also handles timers, Apple Reminders, Calendar events, notes, music and volume, and Shortcuts by voice. Research runs in Lazur's own Chrome tabs and comes back with a summary and a report. Lazur does not click buttons or operate other apps for you. It is not a plugin or add-in for any app.

Lazur has no partnership with any app maker, including Aqua Voice and Wispr Flow. If all you need is dictation, one of the two dictation apps here is the more direct fit. If you also want a helper that sees your screen and answers out loud, Lazur covers that part.

Lazur's Pro plan is $18 a month, or $15 a month billed annually, with 150 AI actions. Power is $120 a month, or $96 a month billed annually, with 1,000 AI actions. Dictation is unlimited on both. The Pro trial lasts 3 days, starts when you first open the app, and needs no credit card. Lazur listens and looks at the screen only while you hold the shortcut.

Who should pick Aqua Voice, Wispr Flow or Lazur

  • Pick Aqua Voice if the annual Pro price matters most and you want a Privacy Mode setting you can check.
  • Pick Wispr Flow if you want the bigger weekly free allowance, Notetaker on Mac, or a Growth or Enterprise plan where model training stays locked off.
  • Pick Lazur if you want dictation plus a voice assistant that sees your screen, points at things and answers out loud.
  • Pick a dictation app and Lazur together if you type all day and also ask a lot of questions about open windows. They do different jobs.

Pick based on the work you do most. Someone who writes client emails all day has different needs from someone who asks questions about open windows. Test with your own work, not with the feature list.

Mistakes people make when they compare these two

  • Comparing word limits without the time period. Wispr's 2,000 words is per week. Aqua's 1,000 words has no stated period.
  • Reading a vendor benchmark as neutral. Aqua's 97.4% comes from its own test, not an independent lab.
  • Forgetting that Wispr's Pro price is per user. A team of five pays for five seats.
  • Skipping the privacy setting on day one. Check it before you dictate anything private.
  • Assuming Windows and Mac behave the same. Confirm the platform and version you actually use.

Another common mistake is judging both apps on one short test. Dictate a real email, a real note and a real code comment. Short messages hide the cleanup problems that show up in longer text.

How to test Aqua Voice and Wispr Flow this week

  1. Pick one real task, such as a 300-word reply to a client email. Use the same task for both apps.
  2. Start the free tier of each app. Note Wispr's weekly allowance and Aqua's 1,000-word limit.
  3. Set each app's privacy setting before you dictate. Write down where you found it.
  4. Dictate the same text into Mail, Notes and a code editor. Count the fixes you make in each.
  5. Pick the app with fewer fixes and a price you can keep paying for twelve months.

For speed, start with the typing speed test to find your typed speed. Then try the speaking versus typing test to compare how fast you talk.

Questions people ask

Is Aqua Voice better than Wispr Flow?

Neither is better for everyone. Aqua Voice has the lower annual Pro price, $10 a month against $12 a month. Wispr Flow has the bigger free allowance, 2,000 words per week against 1,000 words with no period stated. Pick by the limit and price that fit your typing, then test both on one real task.

Does Wispr Flow use my dictation to train its AI?

It can, if the 'Improve the model for everyone' setting is on. Wispr's privacy page says it may then use your audio, transcripts and edits for Dictation and Notetaker. On Growth and Enterprise plans, model training is off by default and locked. On a personal plan, turn the setting off if you do not want that.

Does Aqua Voice store my audio?

It depends on Privacy Mode. With Privacy Mode disabled, Aqua's policy says it securely stores dictation audio and transcripts on its servers. With it enabled, the policy says it does not. The policy does not say whether Privacy Mode is on by default, so check the setting yourself.

Is either app free to use?

Both have a free tier. Wispr Flow's Free plan costs $0 and is limited by words per week, which its homepage gives as 2,000. Aqua Voice's Free plan costs $0 and includes 1,000 words, with no period stated on its pricing page. Paid Pro plans start at $10 or $12 a month for Aqua Voice, and $12 or $15 for Wispr Flow.

Do Aqua Voice and Wispr Flow work on Windows?

Both list Windows on their sites. Wispr Flow's docs require Windows 10 or 11 on x64 and say Windows on ARM is unsupported. Aqua Voice's homepage lists Windows, but this page did not check its Windows requirements. Check both before you buy if you use a Windows PC for work.

Can Lazur replace Aqua Voice or Wispr Flow?

Only partly. Lazur dictates when you hold fn and sees your screen when you hold ⌥ ⌘, but dictation is not its headline. Aqua Voice and Wispr Flow are built around dictation. Lazur is a voice assistant that also answers questions, points at things and guides you one click at a time. It does not click for you.
