Lazur for marketers
AI assistant for marketers Mac: voice help for email, approvals and reports in 2026
An AI assistant for marketers on Mac should take admin off your week, not add another tab to check. Lazur is a voice assistant that lives in the notch. Hold ⌥ ⌘, ask about what is on your screen, and it answers out loud. It points at the cell or message you need, and it drafts the text you asked for.
You say“Which campaign still has no approval date in this sheet?”
Lazur · points at itLazur circles the empty cell and labels it, so you know which owner to chase. You still send the reminder yourself.
Quick answer
- Most knowledge work on a Mac is communication. Microsoft's 2023 data puts it at 57% of app time.
- Marketers carry admin on top of that: approvals, reporting, and chasing status. 45% of UK marketers in one survey say it takes at least a quarter of their week.
- Lazur sees your screen only while you hold ⌥ ⌘. It points at what matters and answers out loud.
- Lazur drafts and types text and runs research in its own Chrome tabs. It does not click buttons, so you still press Send.
- Check your employer's rules before you hold the shortcut over customer data.

62% of workers say they spend too much time searching for information. 68% say they lack uninterrupted focus time during the workday.
Switching screens every few seconds
People average 47 seconds on one screen before switching, according to Gloria Mark at UC Irvine. Her 2004 baseline was about two and a half minutes.
Work about work
Asana says about 60% of time at work goes to work about work. That includes searching, switching apps, and chasing status. The survey is undated.

Where a marketer's Mac time actually goes
Most of your Mac day is not spent making things. Microsoft tracked Microsoft 365 use across knowledge workers in 2023. It found 57% of app time went to communication and 43% to creating. Teams meetings took 23%, Teams chat 19%, and email 15%.

Microsoft Work Trend Index 2023: Will AI Fix Work?Marketers are not a special case here. The data covers all knowledge workers, not marketing teams. Use it as a pattern, not a measure of your own week. The 2024 report showed the same shape, with 60% of time on emails, chats and meetings.
Email is the heaviest load for some people. The top 25% of email users spent 8.8 hours a week on it. Microsoft's 2024 report also found 85% of emails are read in under 15 seconds. The typical person reads about 4 emails for every one they send.

The marketing admin that eats the rest of the week
Admin is the work that does not move a campaign forward. A UK survey of 100 marketers found 45% say low-value admin takes at least a quarter of their working week. One in seven say it takes more than half of it.
The same write-up names the causes. Slow approval processes were the biggest cause of unnecessary work for 38% of respondents. A third pointed to purposeless meetings. Others named reporting, too many tools and platforms, and justifying budgets.
- Chasing status: asking who signed off a file, then drafting the follow-up.
- Reporting: reading a sheet, finding the right cell, and writing the summary note.
- Searching: finding the brief or the last approval thread in a long Slack channel.
- Meeting prep: checking the calendar and spotting which meetings have no agenda.
Read the source with care. CMO Tech wrote up the Optimizely research. The article gives no fieldwork date. Treat it as a snapshot of 100 UK marketers, not a national count.

Why focus keeps breaking and search time piles up
Focus is the other drain. Microsoft's 2023 survey of 31,000 workers in 31 markets found 68% lack enough uninterrupted focus time. The same survey found 62% spend too much time searching for information.
Attention breaks come fast. Gloria Mark at UC Irvine, quoted in a Steelcase transcript, says people average 47 seconds on one screen before switching. The median is 40 seconds. Her 2004 baseline was about two and a half minutes. These figures cover office workers in general, not marketers.
Asana's research calls the rest 'work about work'. It says about 60% of time at work goes there. Searching, switching apps, and chasing status all count. Asana does not date the survey, so treat the figure as a rough guide.

What an AI assistant for marketers on Mac does
Lazur is a voice assistant for the Mac. It lives in the notch at the top of your screen. You hold ⌥ ⌘, ask a question, and it answers out loud. It looks at your screen only while you hold the shortcut.
Lazur has a few distinct jobs. It explains what is on screen. It points, drawing a circle and a label around the thing you ask about. It guides you one click at a time. It drafts or types text, and it runs research in its own Chrome tabs.
Guide mode is the one people underrate. Ask how to add a column to a Google Sheets report. Lazur walks you through it and waits for each click before the next step. You stay in control of the file.
Lazur does not click buttons, edit files, or operate other apps for you. It is not an add-in for any app. Plan around that. You still press Send, Publish, and Save.
- Explains a dashboard or a Slack thread that is on screen right now.
- Points at the cell, button, or message you cannot find.
- Guides you through an unfamiliar menu, one click at a time.
- Drafts replies, briefs, and status notes, and types them where your cursor is.
- Dictates clean text in any app while you hold fn.
- Runs research in Lazur's own Chrome tabs and returns a summary and a report.
- Handles everyday tasks by voice: timers, Apple Reminders, Calendar events, notes, music, and opening apps or links.
How to build your own day with Lazur
Start with the start of your day. Many marketers lose the first hour to unread Slack and calendar checks. Ask for the calendar first, then the overnight thread. That order gives you a plan before the inbox pulls you in.
Research works best as a handoff. Ask a question, not a whole project. Ask for three competitors, one page type, and one date range. Lazur runs the work in its own Chrome tabs, so your own tabs stay open for the work you are doing.
Save the wording you repeat. Dictation supports snippets, a personal dictionary, and clipboard slots. A snippet for your standard campaign naming note saves retyping. Add product names and agency names to the dictionary so they come out right.
Approvals and weekly reporting, step by step
Here is a worked example for a weekly paid social report. You have a Google Sheet with spend, clicks, and conversions. A leadership summary in Google Docs is due Thursday. This order saves the most time.
- Hold ⌥ ⌘ and ask which campaigns have no approval date. Lazur points at the empty cells.
- Ask Lazur to walk you through adding a conversion rate column. It waits for each click.
- Open the leadership doc in Google Docs. Hold fn and dictate one paragraph per campaign.
- Read every figure back before you paste it in. Dictation can mishear numbers and names.
- Send the follow-up yourself. Lazur drafts it, and you press Send.
The common mistake is trusting the first draft. Check each figure against the sheet. The summary goes out under your name, so the final read is yours.
Mistakes marketers make with an AI assistant
- Treating it as autopilot. Lazur guides and drafts. It does not click for you, so the last step stays yours.
- Dictating numbers and names without checking them. Read them back before they leave your Mac.
- Holding the shortcut over customer data without checking your employer's rules.
- Trusting research without opening the sources. A summary is a starting point, so open the pages that matter.
- Asking one giant question. One clear request per ask gives cleaner answers.
- Replying to every email at full length. Microsoft's 2024 data says 85% of emails are read in under 15 seconds, so keep replies short.
Customer data, privacy, and your employer's rules
Marketing screens often show personal data. Lead lists, email addresses, and customer notes are common. Lazur listens and looks at the screen only while you hold the shortcut. Audio and the screenshot go to AI providers to answer you. They are not stored, and content is never used to train AI models.
That describes how Lazur works. It does not replace your company's rules. Some employers limit which AI tools staff can use with customer data. Check with your IT or privacy team before you use it on a CRM export or a list of named customers. Lazur is not a compliance certification, and this page does not claim one.
Setting up Lazur on your Mac
Setup takes a few minutes. First, check your macOS version. Choose Apple menu > About This Mac. Lazur runs on Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Windows is planned, not available.
- Download Lazur from the download page and open it.
- Allow the microphone and screen access prompts. Lazur needs both to hear you and see your screen.
- Hold ⌥ ⌘ and ask about a window you have open.
- Try one everyday request, like a timer or a reminder.

Check your apps too. Slack's help center says the Mac desktop app needs macOS 13 or later and Slack app 4.44 or later. Slack updates those requirements in May and November, so check again then.
For new Outlook for Mac, Microsoft lists macOS 10.14 or later and version 16.42 or later. Microsoft's page also names October 2026 as the end of legacy Outlook for Mac support. That date has passed, so confirm which Outlook you run.
Who should try it first, and what to measure
The US Bureau of Labor Statistics counted about 421,600 advertising, promotions, and marketing manager jobs in 2025. The median annual wage was $166,790 in May 2025. The job description lists email only as a campaign channel. It does not list admin or software.
Start with one job you repeat every week. Time it for five workdays before you start, then five after. Good first candidates are status chasing, weekly reports, and Slack catch-ups. Keep the list short.
To test your own pace, try the speaking vs typing test. It shows how fast you talk compared with how fast you type. That helps you decide when dictation is worth using.
Next steps for marketing teams on Mac
Download Lazur on your next report day and run one task end to end. Compare plans on the pricing page once you know which tasks you want to keep. If your team lives in Slack, read the Slack page. If your drafts live in Google Docs, read the Google Docs page.

Questions people ask
Is Lazur an AI assistant for marketers on Mac that works in Google Sheets and Slack?
Lazur works in any app that is open on your Mac while you hold ⌥ ⌘. It is not an add-in for Google Sheets, Slack, or any other app. It has no partnership with those app makers.
Does Lazur work on Windows?
No. Lazur is for macOS on Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Windows is planned, not available.
Does Lazur watch my screen all the time?
No. It listens and looks at the screen only while you hold the shortcut. Audio and the screenshot go to AI providers to answer you. They are not stored, and content is never used to train AI models.
Can I use Lazur with customer data?
Check your employer's rules first. Lazur does not make your company compliant, and it does not replace your privacy team's guidance. If personal customer data is on screen, close it or ask first.
How is Lazur different from a chatbot in a browser tab?
A browser chatbot usually needs you to paste text in. Lazur sees the window you have open, so you do not copy it across. It can point at a cell or button and guide you through the next click.
Does Lazur send my emails or post in Slack for me?
No. Lazur drafts and types text. It does not click Send or Post. You review the text and press the button yourself.
How much does Lazur cost?
The current plans and AI action limits are listed on the pricing page. Check that page for the latest terms before you choose a plan.
