Raycast alternatives

Raycast alternatives for Mac in 2026: Lazur, Clicky and Raycast on price and privacy

The best Raycast alternative for Mac depends on the job. Lazur is a voice assistant for macOS that answers out loud and points at things on your screen, and Clicky is a screen-aware voice assistant that also runs on Windows. Raycast is still the stronger keyboard launcher for apps, files and extensions. This page compares all three on price, platform and privacy, using each company's own site.

Updated Prices checked 2026-11-07

The short version

  • Raycast stays the stronger keyboard launcher. Its Free plan has no Raycast AI and keeps clipboard history for 3 months.
  • Lazur is a voice assistant for macOS. Hold ⌥ ⌘ to ask about anything on screen, and it answers out loud.
  • Clicky runs on Mac and Windows. Its Pro plan is $20 per month, billed monthly, according to its homepage.
  • Lazur Pro is $18/month, or $15/month billed annually. Raycast Pro is $10 / month, or $96 / year.
  • Read the privacy terms before an app sees your screen. Clicky's FAQ and privacy policy disagree on stored screenshots.

heyclicky FAQ

Start with the job, not the app name

A Raycast alternative for Mac has to replace something specific. Raycast does several jobs from one hotkey. It launches apps, searches files, keeps clipboard history, holds snippets and runs AI chat. Lazur and Clicky focus on something else. You hold a key, ask out loud and get help with what is on your screen.

That difference decides the choice. If you mostly open apps and files by typing, a launcher is the right tool. If you often ask where a button is or how to change a setting, a voice assistant saves more time. Many people end up with both. Test the one that fixes your worst daily habit first.

How the three apps differ on a Mac

  • Raycast: a keyboard launcher with app launch, file search, clipboard history, snippets, quicklinks, window management, a calculator and an extensions store. Its homepage also describes Raycast AI and an API for building extensions.
  • Lazur: a voice assistant that lives in the notch. Hold ⌥ ⌘ to ask about anything on screen. It also handles timers, Reminders, Calendar events, notes, music, volume, opening apps and links, web search and Shortcuts.
  • Clicky, which runs at heyclicky.com: a voice assistant for macOS and Windows. It sees the screen when you press its hotkey. Its paid plans count agent messages, which are tasks it does for you.

Lazur is not a launcher. Its product facts do not list file search or an extension store. If you want those, keep Raycast for launching and add Lazur for questions. If you want only one app, your daily task list should decide, not the feature grid.

Raycast alternatives for Mac on price: what each plan includes

Prices change, so check the source before you buy. The figures below are copied from each company's own pricing page or homepage. Raycast and Clicky were checked on 2026-11-07. Lazur's figures come from its product facts dated 2026-11-05. Clicky's homepage has a switch labeled yearly-20%, but it shows no yearly prices.

Plan prices as published on each company's own site, checked on the dates above.

Read the caps, not only the prices. Raycast Pro includes 500 AI credits a month. Lazur Pro includes 150 AI actions. Clicky Pro includes 150 agent messages a month. These are three different units, so they do not compare one to one. When a Clicky plan hits its agent limit, agent messages pause until the next cycle, while talk keeps working.

Lazur as a voice-first alternative for Mac

Lazur fits when your question is 'where is this?' or 'how do I do this?' Hold ⌥ ⌘ and ask. Lazur answers out loud. Ask where something is, and it draws a circle and a label around it on your screen. Ask how to do something, and it guides you one click at a time, waiting for each click.

Here is a worked example. You need the Export button in an app you use once a month. Hold ⌥ ⌘ and ask where Export is. Lazur circles the button and labels it. You click it yourself. Lazur does not click buttons, edit files or operate other apps for you.

Dictation is the other half of Lazur. Hold fn to dictate clean, formatted text at the cursor in any app. Lazur also keeps snippets, a personal dictionary and clipboard slots. Dictation is unlimited on both paid plans, so it does not use up your AI actions.

Where Raycast is still the better pick

Raycast wins on breadth and on extensions. Its Store shows user counts next to each extension, such as 260,454 next to 1Password. The page does not state a total extension count, so treat those numbers as shown, not verified totals.

One reviewer calls Raycast 'the most powerful keyboard launcher on macOS' and estimates it cut app switching by 30 to 40 minutes per workday. That is one reviewer's estimate from their own use, not a measured result. The same review says the keyboard-first design 'has a learning curve for mouse-oriented users.' Both points are opinion.

Raycast also runs on Windows, according to its own site. Its Windows page says 'We're finally on Windows' and supports Windows 10 21H2 and later, and Windows 11. Its Windows feature list covers the app launcher, file search, clipboard history, snippets, quicklinks, calculator, emoji search and Raycast Store extensions. One review says Windows is still in beta, which conflicts with the company page. Check the current status before you buy.

Watch for one mistake. Raycast's pages describe chat-style AI, including Quick AI and AI Chat. They do not describe pointing at buttons on your screen. If you want the app to show you where a button is, Raycast is not that tool.

Where Clicky fits, and what to check first

Clicky is the closest match to Lazur on paper. Its homepage describes a screen-aware voice assistant that runs on macOS and Windows. Its Pro plan lists unlimited talk and dictation, plus 150 agent messages a month. Agent messages are tasks it does for you, counted per month.

Reviews of Clicky disagree with the company, so check the source. An agent-finder review gives heyclicky 7 out of 10. It praises the voice input and screen-aware guidance that points at real interface elements. The same review calls itself desk research, not hands-on testing. It also calls the app macOS-only and says pricing is not public. Both claims conflict with heyclicky's own homepage and FAQ.

Privacy: what each app says about your screen

Start with Lazur's own statement, as given for this page. It listens and looks at the screen only while you hold the shortcut. Audio and the screenshot go to AI providers to answer, and they are not stored. Content is never used to train AI models. Lazur also keeps a memory of what you asked and did, on the Mac.

Raycast's privacy policy, last updated June 19, 2026, says AI requests go to the selected or configured AI provider. It says that where available, providers are set up so inputs are not used to train their models. The words 'where available' matter, because Raycast does not promise this in every case. AI Memory is stored locally and encrypted on your device by default, and you can turn it off in settings.

heyclicky captures screenshots and voice locally when you use push-to-talk. Its privacy policy names Anthropic, OpenAI, Deepgram and Cerebras as third-party AI providers. It says it does not sell your data. It does not say whether your data trains models, and the policy has no last-updated date. You can delete your account and all its data in settings. Deletion happens within 14 days after a confirmed request.

Platform support: Mac only, or Mac and Windows?

This question decides many switches. Lazur runs on macOS, on Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Windows is planned, not available. Raycast and Clicky both list Windows. Clicky says one account works on Mac and Windows. Raycast offers its Windows app through the Microsoft Store or WinGet.

Check the minimum system version before you install. Clicky needs macOS Sonoma 14.2 or higher. Raycast's Windows app needs Windows 10 21H2 or later, or Windows 11. For Lazur, check the download page for current requirements, because this page's product facts do not list a minimum macOS version.

Teams and company rollouts

Raycast is the only one of the three with team plans in its published pricing. Teams Pro is $15 / user / month, Teams Plus is $25 / user / month and Teams Max is $65 / user / month. Enterprise adds an AI Control Center, SAML and SCIM, 2FA enforcement and an IP allow-list. Enterprise pricing is custom.

The facts for Lazur and Clicky do not list team plans. If you buy for a team, ask each vendor in writing before you roll out. Check who can see shared prompts and screen content, and whether an admin can turn AI features off.

Mistakes people make when they switch

  • Comparing prices alone. Raycast Pro at $10 / month and Clicky Pro at $20 per month do different jobs, so the cheaper plan may not fit.
  • Expecting a voice assistant to replace a launcher. Lazur's product facts list opening apps and links by voice, but no file search or extension store.
  • Ignoring the free plan limits. Raycast Free stops clipboard history at 3 months and has no Raycast AI, so you may need Pro sooner than you expect.
  • Reading one review as the answer. Both reviews here are opinion. The agent-finder byline says tested, but its body says desk research.
  • Starting the Lazur trial on a busy week. The 3-day Pro trial starts when you first open the app, so open it when you can test real work.

A simple one-week test for each app

  1. Pick one task you repeat daily, such as finding a file, opening an app or asking where a setting lives.
  2. Use Raycast for two days on that task. Note each time you reached for the mouse or dug through menus.
  3. Start the Lazur trial, which runs 3 days with no credit card. Repeat the task by holding ⌥ ⌘ and asking out loud.
  4. Count the steps each app took. Keep the app that saved the most steps on the task that matters most to you.
  5. Before you pay, check the caps for the plan you need. Read the privacy section for any app that will see your screen.

Here is how the caps play out. If you mostly launch apps and find files, Raycast Free may be enough, though its clipboard history stops at 3 months. If you ask for help many times a day, the AI limits matter more. Lazur Pro includes 150 AI actions a month, and Clicky Pro includes 150 agent messages a month. Track your use for a few weeks before you pick a plan.

Who should pick which app

  • Do you mostly type to open apps, files and snippets? Start with Raycast.
  • Do you mostly ask where something is, or how to do it, on a Mac? Start with Lazur.
  • Do you need the same kind of screen help on Mac and Windows? Test Clicky, and read its privacy policy first.

Next steps are simple. Get Lazur from the download page, or compare plans on the pricing page. If Siri is your current helper, the Lazur vs Siri comparison covers the overlap in more depth.

Questions people ask

Is Lazur a real Raycast alternative for Mac?

Only in part. Raycast is a keyboard launcher for apps, files, snippets and clipboard history. Lazur is a voice assistant that answers out loud and points at things on your screen. It covers some launcher work, such as opening apps and links by voice, but its facts do not list file search. Many people use both.

How much does Raycast cost on Mac in 2026?

Raycast's pricing page lists a Free plan, Pro at $10 / month or $96 / year, Plus at $20 / month or $192 / year, and Max at $50 / month or $480 / year. Pro includes 500 AI credits a month. The page shows no date, so this page uses the 2026-11-07 check date.

Does Clicky work on Mac and Windows?

Its homepage and FAQ say it runs on macOS Sonoma 14.2 or higher and on Windows 10 and 11. One account works on both. Some reviews call it macOS-only and say pricing is not public. Those reviews conflict with the company's own site, so check the current download page before you rely on either.

Is Lazur available on Windows?

No. Lazur runs on macOS, on Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Windows is planned, not available. Check the download page for the current version list and system requirements before you install.

Do these apps use my screen content to train AI models?

Lazur says content is never used to train AI models. Raycast says that where available, its AI providers are configured not to train on inputs. Clicky's privacy policy does not say whether data trains models. Read the policy for the app you pick, and test with content you do not mind sharing.

Can I try Lazur before I pay?

Yes. Lazur has a 3-day Pro trial with no credit card. The trial starts when you first open the app, so plan your test for those three days. Waiting a week means you lose part of the trial before you start.

Why does Raycast's free plan matter when I switch?

The Free plan limits clipboard history to 3 months and does not include Raycast AI. If you rely on older clipboard items or on AI, you will reach those limits and need a paid plan. Check which of those features you use before you decide.
